Went to Benson's today and took a walk down memory lane. I use to visit there on school field trips as a kid. Looks like alot of work went into restoring the park. I found it very pretty and peaceful!
Went to see the old Benson's today with my wife and 2 dogs. Lots of memories. As a kid, put a peanut in the elephant's nostril and it blew snot all over me. One of life's lessons. All the rest were good memories.

Yesterday, we had to put our dog to sleep, and walked through Benson's afterwards. It was the first time for me, and it was not only healing, but it was magic! The grounds are lovely--kudos to all that have dedicated so much time and love to preserve such a special place. Thank you!!
NEWS: Friday the Benson Park had a pine tree uprooted by storm winds, nobody was harmed. The tree took down two smaller trees blocking the main entrance walking path into the park. A park staff member put up barricades and cleared the entrance so people may walk into the park using the a new trail directly to the right of the gate.
-The down trees should be cleaned up Saturday.
Thank you for your understanding
I am patiently waiting for my trip up north so I can stroll through the park. Thanks everyone that worked so hard to make it possible !
We have to say a big thanks to all the people that worked so hard in the last month in getting the park ready for the grand opening. The park came a long way in that time. Evan and I have been in there to see all the changes and it is amazing. I do have to say it was a great feeling to walk arround the park yesterday. There is a very nice peacefullness walking through Bensons. The best thing Evan and I can say about the park since we have volentered is that we have meet so very wonderfull people that we know will be our friends for a long time and that is priceless. Remember, it is not about where you end up in life, its all about the journey and the friends you meet along the way.

I love Benson's. I have walked all the trails. The only complaint that I have is that people need to keep their dogs leashed and clean up after them. THAT IS A PARK RULE!!!!!. I was walking with my parents and 2 dogs were not on leashes and some trails have dog mess. I have seen many people bring dogs in without cleaning up after them. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG AND KEEP IT CLEAN.
Hello, My Grandmother, May Kovar, worked lions and perhaps other cats at this park sometime late 1944-1946. (I have a post card from Bensons with her picture) I am looking for any information anyone has about this especially specific dates she appeared. I am also interested to know if Fred 'Curly' Schafer was employed there during this same time period. May Kovar and Schafer were perhaps married.I would like to contact an historian and owner of the park but any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Could anyone tell me if there is a landscaping commitee meeting this Wednesday? Thanks in advance......

You are cordially invited to attend the Grand Opening Celebration of the new Benson Park on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11AM - 23 Kimball Hill Rd., Hudson, NH. Rain date - Sunday, Sept, 26th (Formerly Benson’s Wild Animal Farm - no longer a zoo or amusement park)
I have so many memories from Benson's Wild Animal Farm.
My father would take us all the time. My favorite memory was visiting Tony the Gorilla, because he had the same name as my father. I can't wait to see the new Park!!
I loved to go to Benson's Wild Animal Farm as a child in the late 50's and 60's. I used to ride my trike because I am disabled and it was easyer to get around that way. I loved all the animals. What memories I have. Thanks for preserving the area and it's history. Best wishes to all. Margit Maklae
I would just like to thank all the Benson Park volunteers for the fabulous job they have done for the town of Hudson.
You have no idea how much my family apprecaites this area of land that you have re-invented. Nancy, Adam, Logan and Aaron Daniels

Today, for some reason, I was wondering whether the Benson Animal Farm still existed. Sure enough, I found you on the Internet.I'm 79 years old, I can remember when I was a kid 5 or 6 years old visiting Bensin Animal Farm. For some years prior to World War II it was an annual trip for the family, something I always looked forward to.
Keep it going.
