Thanks for all the support for the Hudson Dog Park at Bensons. If you have Facebook feel free to join our fan page for updates on our progress. It is simply titled Friends of Hudson dog park and please let anyone else who might be interested know as well.

My family visited yesterday, it was a nice walk trying to imagine what it used to look like. Word of advice, watch out for ticks. We found 3 deer ticks when we got home.
Can the brochure be added to this site?
We look forward to the future of the park!

At Benson Park
The Town of Hudson Board of Selectmen welcome the Honorable John Lynch and all members of the public, including the press, to tour Benson Park and ask for the Governor’s support in amending the Benson’s deed from the State of New Hampshire to the Town of Hudson to exempt a portion of the land for a potential Senior Center.

I'm so excited to see this incredible park come back to life! Lots of fond memories were created there, and now many more can be too! Looking forward to future progress and I am going to make it a point to volunteer my time.

The 'soft opening' was a huge success. Over 1000 people and and I'd wager a whole lot more if it hadn't rained on Saturday. Although my visit was shorter than I wanted it to be, I couldn't stop smiling at seeing the park come alive with people again. Thank you THANK YOU to all the volunteers who worked really hard over the last months getting to this point.

Had a great time wandering around the property with my dogs today. Brought back a lot of memories. Looking forward to the park being open for at least walking trails and doggy park.

Nice to see something positive happening with the park property despite the underlying politics; thanks to all the volunteers that are making this possible. Very many happy memories there for lots of folks, both staffers and visitors. I see from the reunion pic that Bret's just as handsome as ever! Man, did I ever have a crush on him . . . I was always more anxious to see him than the animals. Loved the way his shirt would be unbuttoned and was always hoping he'd just take it off. Has he or anyone else considered writing a book about Benson's such as was just published about Pleasure Island? Wish I could be there this weekend . . . thanks again to all who are making this possible.

Hi Gang,My nick name is Buzz and I worked at Benson's from 1962-1967 during my summer vacation time. The wage back then when I started was 50 cents per hour. But I got to tell you maost of us kids worked a 60 hour schedule. I was the parking lot attendant and later in the afternoon would come inside and relieve the kids working on the kitty rides or the food stands. I even had a chance to work with the trainers. Roland Tibor and the seals Salty and Candy. Ocne with Joe Arcaris and the Tiger act. There was also George Marshall who was in charge of the animal chrew but also put on the chip act ant the chip college. Pink(which was his real first name)Madison was the elelphant trainer. Henry Lafrave was in charge of all us kids and my brother-in-law Chet Libby was the Jack Of all trades for the Farm. I remember us kids would take a part of our pay ( which was always received in cash ) and get together and go to Canobie Lake Park on a group rate. We would wear our uniforms. Those really were the greatest of my young adult memories. Hope to hear from some of you lod Benson Kids soos.

Funny, I remember coming to Benson's sometime around 1965. I lived in Bristol County Massachusetts back then, I was probably 4 or 5. We left before the sun came up, it took 4 hours to arrive. We were so early, we had to wait in the parking lot for the park to open! What a day though. Lots of pics sitting on the ceramic animals. Who would have guessed that I would soon move to Hudson just in time to take my son to the park in 1987 before it closed. Now that the park is being reopened as a town park, it's too much to imagine. I'm so happy & cannot wait. Great job to everyone involved!

What Benson's is really costing taxpayers... who ever is writing this stuff has no problem backing it up. As a Hudson resident I would love an audit..
