OMG, this took me back to fun memories from my childhood. We lived in Lowell, Mass so we went quite often. I still remember riding the elephant, and that silly gorilla that used to pick things off his fur and throw them towards you. We used to giggle so much. My sister may have pics from that time period, I'll ask her to look. Thanks for the walk through memory lane. Now living in Quechee, Vermont.

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to obtain an old Benson's poster, or reprint of one (something vintage-y with a picture of an animal) ....it would be great in my son's room! Thanks!

Will there be clean up crews every weekend? Anything going on week nights, where its still light out? I live right around the corner and would like to lend a hand in some clean up, I have a busy sched. and an 8 month old so it's a bit hard to make it there but I would really like to help out! I know once it is finished I will be taking advantage of it :)

What should I bring with me? Gloves? I have a friend with a landscaping company, so I have access to "tools", branch cutters ect. Not sure where the "clean up" is at and what is being done...

Thanks in advance for any and all info!

It is july 18th 2009 and we went to the Bensons clean up and had a walk through. We saw many people doing brush removal arround the buildings and I have to say for the first time I can see that bensons animal farm is in need of much repair but, is on its way to becomming a great area for people to go and remember some of the past. As more areas open it will be a wonderfull place for people to walk,run,bike,and picnic. The Boyers would like to say thankyou for all the people that volenteer there time to make this happen for people to enjoy. My son and I will be helping also. So maybe his kids could also use this for there enjoyment

We had a very good day at the park today. we got a lot done!It's starting to look real good.
I'll be there all day tomorow starting at 8:00 am Stop by and help out, it's lots of fun. Best part: free pizza and cold drinks !! And sore body at end of day!!
Will also be there next week end 8:00am till noon!

I'm so happy to hear about all the activity and that there is actually a plan to clear and clean up the property and make it something again - other than a lot of overgrown weeds hiding the memories!! I would love to help if there are any volunteer groups please use my email to keep me posted.

I think that the town should put in a dog park on the Benson's property. I take my dog to the one in Derry and Most of the people there are from the Hudson Area. Benson's is for the citizens of Hudson and this would be a great use of the town property

Hi everyone!

All we can say is, "I guess you had to be there".

That is...to appreciate the Family that Benson's truley created. It wasn't just a place to work, it was our extended family.

It's a family that we are very proud to say we were members of....

We hope this note finds our extended family in good health and happiness!

I also went there as a kid. My great uncle worked there in the early years at the gate and I worked there one season as the ride supervisor under Arthur and Connie and also Jay and Cathy Knox and Jay Crowley and Jim Crowley. It was probably the best summer of my life.Anyone remember Jay C.,Jay K. and myself being "arrested" by the red cross and being transported to the Nashua Mall to be publicly "dunked" for charity? It was estimated that there were over 75 employees from the park waiting there when they brought us into the mall!Great memories. I've lost touch with J Crowley over the years.Would love to re-unite with alot of folks from that time.Looking forward to going into the park again sometime soon.
