Does anyone remember the black bear that was at Bensons, early 80's? I remember going as a kid, I still have my souvenir bookmark, says Bensons Animal Park on the front and Bensons creed and dedication on the back. I think it came as part of the admission ticket. loved this place!

Where can I get a trail map online? I was there today with my daughter and all the trail maps were gone. We had an amazing time -- what a great resource for Hudson! Can't wait to go skating on Swan Lake this winter. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this park a reality!

I was wondering if you would like me to build some bird houses, out of rough sawed lumber, for the park, at no charge?

Carol,
Yes you make bike ride any place in the park that is open to the public including the wilderness trails. The main restriction is no motorized vehicles and no hunting(fishing is fine).

I'm taking the family today for our first visit. I'm really excited, kind of like being a kid again. I have lots of fond memories and some not as fond. I had 2 pretty bad freak incedences happen while I was there and I think that is why I have fears of certain rides now. LOL I was also about 8 years old then too so I'm not sure how much is true memory and is my mind remembering incorrectly. anyway I'm really looking forward to it and hope the pond has good fishing for my kiddos today.

I think it's wonderful to have Benson's back with or without the animals! I have great memories of Benson's as do my parents! Can one bike ride through the park on the trails or is it strictly for walking?

If there is anyone that I worked with during my time at Bensons that still has pictures and would be willing to share I would be very greatful.I had an entire album that I put together which I loaned to Nathan and he eventually lost it.I remember Kitty had a nice album and many others took alot of pics.So many great memories.Especially the party/BBQ at my parents house, swimming at the quarry after work,on and on.Too many to count.I'd do it all again....

TES has a nice video about "summertime" and at 45 seconds is a brief (don't blink!) glimpse of Liz having a good scratch on a tree.

I remember the last time my family and I visited, my dad had me lean up against the ostrich encloser. One of them bite my finger I still tell that story to my teenage daughter. She thinks it is so funny. I just watched the chronicle piece on youtube.com and I have to say I cried.
