All of the pictures brought back memories of going to Benson's as a child. When I had children of my own, they always loved going there too, that was their big treat! The next upcoming clean-up day at Benson Park(passive recreational area) is Sat. the 15th of May from 09:00-14:00(2pm). Bring any landscaping tools you think may help, the bugs are out in the park so bring bug repellent/sun screen and wear clothing to protect from poison ivy if you are... (more)

I was fortunate enough to have lived in Hudson from the age of 4 thru 13 (1963 to 1972). Benson's was the center of my universe and I will always look back at it fondly.

well there was one we called the Lucky Elephant that was down by Stand Four in the late 60's.
I think it ended up at the Flea Market in Derry.

Used to go to Benson's every summer. Did you have a cement elephant in the park, as I just found a picture of a girl friend & me in front of such an elephant. She thinks it was Catskill Game farm. Help us please & many thanks for years of enjoyment as a young girl.

Good news, updates to the fencing/gates are going well at Benson Park and the Hudson Police are making patrols in the park now that access better for the police motorcycle. Hi there, I can confirm the artist who painted the 'Welcome' sign that is shown in the pictures section. My mother, Cherie Trudeau, was an also an 'in house' artist when this was painted. I showed her the picture and she clearly remembered that the artist's name is Brett Piper :) Take care!
